Artists

Kim Anno:

Kim Anno is a painter and public artist who refers her work as contemporary abstraction and is influenced by Ukiyo-e prints, the physical body, and Islamic and Asian architecture and textiles. Among other venues, she has shown her work at Marcel Sitcoske Gallery, San Francisco; Chautauqua Center for the Visual Arts, New York; the Zaloren Arte Contemporaneo, Mexico City; Museum of Modern Art, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil; Peter Miller Gallery, Chicago; and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco. She has also shown at the Embassador's Estate in KualaLampur as part of the Artists in Embassies Program and in 2003 published The Mirror of Simple Souls, an artists' book, in collaboration with Anne Carson at One Crow Press at St. Benedict's / St. John's University in Minnesota. In June 2004 she will have an exhibition at Patricia Sweetow in San Francisco and in 2005 will exhibit new work at the Berkeley Museum of Art.

Kim Anno was born in Los Angeles, California and currently lives in Berkeley, California.

Join us in marking the 2-year anniversary of the Hearts in San Francisco city-wide art installation project at HEROES & HEARTS.

3 new Hearts in the series will be unveiled, while 12 TableTop Hearts will make their debut, all designed by prominent local artists and available for purchase at the luncheon. In addition, we will be honoring several local heroes for their exceptional and inspirational actions which help make San Francisco the first-class city it is.
