Ivan Blackshear:

Ivan Blackshear was raised in Texas until the age of sixteen, when he moved to Japan with his family. While continuing high school in Japan, Ivan started photographing the Japanese skateboard scene. In 1996 Ivan moved to California to attend the California College of Arts and Crafts where he majored in film/video. Frustrated with the gallery scene in San Francisco and the East Bay, Ivan opened his own gallery called Door.7.Gallery in Oakland and helped created a vital foothold for the local art scene. Ivan continues to curate shows from time to time while attending Miami Ad School for Advertising and Graphic Design. Ivan has won top honor awards as a beginning entry designer at Miami Ad School and has been recognized for his individual talent and style of design. Ivan continues to live and work in Oakland where he has his studio and office.
