Joan Elan Davis:

Joan Elan Davis is an established artist with over twenty national museum and gallery exhibitions. She has had five solo exhibitions within the last three years. In 2002, she was made a member of the National Association of Women Artists in New York City. Davis has been featured on New York Radio 93.3 as a premier west coast painter and on Evening Magazine in San Francisco.

Internationally, Davis' works were included in the Celebration of American Women in Art Exhibition in Budapest, Hungary.

Davis has donated paintings to organizations involving children, the homeless and school fundraisers throughout the bay area as well as the San Francisco Art Institute and the Museum of Modern Art. Davis also donates her time as a Children's Docent at the Institute Council and has worked with children's groups in and out of her studio for many public and private schools.

Davis is known for her large scale semi-abstract floral works of which she states, "I am a floral painter that does not really paint flowers." Davis uses an imaginary floral form and vivid color to communicate the energy of a memory or an experience whether it be spiritual, environmental or social.

Davis is represented by the Eleanore Austerer Gallery, 565 Sutter Street, in San Francisco.
