Jennifer Ewing:

I have drawn since early childhood in Chicago, IL where I attended the Chicago Art Institute for classes while in grade and high school. At Monmouth College, Illinois I earned a BA degree with art as my major. My first job after college was teaching art to children and shortly thereafter I moved to Colorado where I taught basic drawing and watercolor at Mesa College for 6 years.
Moving to San Francisco In 1981, my first job was in the graphics world where I became a technical illustrator and graphics supervisor for Dames & Moore, an engineering firm. For variety, I also did freelance illustration.
In 1989, I started my own business, painting full time and I have made my living from murals and commissioned art ever since. The main focus of my work today is both in painting, sculpting and figurative ceramic pieces and in developing an ongoing drawing class called Making Your Mark.
I have shown my work in San Francisco Open Studios since 1986 until present time and have had shows locally at the Italian Cultural Institute, Marathon Plaza and Stanford Art Spaces to name a few. Being selected as a guest artist at the De Young Museum and the Legion of Honor, I have demonstrated various painting techniques including fresco, trompe l' oeil and mural basics and sculpting on bas-relief panels over the past 4 years.
