Rupert Garcia:

Rupert Garcia is a native Californian and has long established both reputable artistic and academic careers. He was originally trained in painting, print making and silkscreen. However, he continued to study arts education at the University of California, Berkeley, where he subsequently received his MA in Art History. In 1993, Mr. Garcia was awarded an honorary Doctorate in Fine Arts from the San Francisco Art Institute.

During his extensive career, he has taught at numerous academic institutions and received various accolades and grants for his distinctive abilities in painting and graphics. His work has been well received both domestically and abroad. Currently, "Rupert Garcia: Another Look, the 1960s & 1970s" can be found at the Rena Bransten Gallery.

Follow your Heart to Union Square...

Luncheon

Join us in marking the 2-year anniversary of the Hearts in San Francisco city-wide art installation project at HEROES & HEARTS.

3 new Hearts in the series will be unveiled, while 12 TableTop Hearts will make their debut, all designed by prominent local artists and available for purchase at the luncheon. In addition, we will be honoring several local heroes for their exceptional and inspirational actions which help make San Francisco the first-class city it is.
