John Herschend:





Raised in a Midwestern amusement park, John Herschend is a visual artist who approaches his work from the standpoint of a writer. He studied theatre and political science at Boston University, and has worked as a public high school English Teacher in San Francisco for many years. His work has been seen throughout the Bay Area in galleries and art centers, including a show currently at the Richmond Art Center from April through May, 2004. He was the Artist in Residence recipient for the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco in January of 2002, and is currently a finalist for SFMOMA and In/Site's 2005 SECA award. He is the lead faculty for Out of Site, the Center for Art and Architecture in San Francisco and an MFA candidate at UC Berkeley.

Follow your Heart to Union Square...

Luncheon

Join us in marking the 2-year anniversary of the Hearts in San Francisco city-wide art installation project at HEROES & HEARTS.

3 new Hearts in the series will be unveiled, while 12 TableTop Hearts will make their debut, all designed by prominent local artists and available for purchase at the luncheon. In addition, we will be honoring several local heroes for their exceptional and inspirational actions which help make San Francisco the first-class city it is.
