Jon Langford:

Jon Langford is a founding member of the legendary British punk rock band the Mekons, and currently a member of the Topshelf Chicago bar band, the Waco Brothers, and Classic C&W Exploration Project, the Pine Valley Cosmonauts.

Trained in fine art at the University of Leeds in northern England, Jon abandoned visual art until his arrival in Chicago during the early 90s where he met Tony Fitzpatrick who encouraged him to etch and finally have his first solo show of paintings and prints at World Tatoo Gallery in Chicago in September 1993.

Jon's work remains rooted in his experiences as a working musician, his love/hate relationship with the USA and a concerted effort to thwart and subdue his own fine art training. He has exhibited his work widely in the United States and Europe and currently has a permanent on-line exhibition of his work that can be viewed at www.yarddog.com, the website of Yard Dog Folk Art in Austin, Texas. He has designed CD covers for Hank Williams, Buddy Guy, Hound Dog Taylor and his own latest solo release "All the Fame of Lofty Deeds" on Bloodshot records.

Jon Langford lives in Chicago with his wife, Helen, sons, Jimmy and Tommy, and street mutt, Billy Bones.
