Silvia Poloto:



Silvia was born in Brazil. After graduating from the University of Sao Paulo as an electrical engineer, she worked as an engineer while simultaneously earning her MBA. Two years after obtaining her second degree, Silvia moved to San Francisco where she discovered that it was not engineering, but art, that was her true passion. Silvia works in several media, including painting and sculpture. Her work has received numerous awards throughout the USA. Silvia also has accumulated an impressive list of selected solo and group exhibition throughout California within the past nine years. Exhibits include shows at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art Rental Gallery, the Richmond Arts Center, the Berkeley Art Center, the Center for the Visual Arts, the Mission Cultural Center, Gallery 555 (Oakland Museum of California), the Bolinas Museum, just to mention a few. In 2001, Silvia Poloto completed a month long residency at the California Palace of the Legion of Honor in San Francisco. Her work has been purchased by more than 30 institutional and corporate collections throughout the USA and more than 400 private collections throughout the world.

Silvia is represented by Steel Gallery in San Francisco.

Follow your Heart to Union Square...

Luncheon

Join us in marking the 2-year anniversary of the Hearts in San Francisco city-wide art installation project at HEROES & HEARTS.

3 new Hearts in the series will be unveiled, while 12 TableTop Hearts will make their debut, all designed by prominent local artists and available for purchase at the luncheon. In addition, we will be honoring several local heroes for their exceptional and inspirational actions which help make San Francisco the first-class city it is.
