Valentin Popov:

Valentin Popov was born in 1956 in Kiev, Ukraine, where he was formally trained at the Ukranian National Academy of Fine Arts. His eclectic and extensive portfolio includes works in painting, etching, and monoprinting. He has been an Artist in Residence in both the United States at the KALA Institute, Smith Anderson Printshop, and Djerassi Foundation and the USSR with the Senezh Artists and the Republic Sednev Artists.

In addition to producing art, Valentin has also lectured to students at the University of California, Berkeley and the San Francisco Art Institute. His works have been recently exhibited at the Lora D Art Gallery in Chicago and the "Modernism" Gallery in San Francisco.

Follow your Heart to Union Square...

Join us in marking the 2-year anniversary of the Hearts in San Francisco city-wide art installation project at HEROES & HEARTS.

3 new Hearts in the series will be unveiled, while 12 TableTop Hearts will make their debut, all designed by prominent local artists and available for purchase at the luncheon. In addition, we will be honoring several local heroes for their exceptional and inspirational actions which help make San Francisco the first-class city it is.
