Lynne Rutter:

San Francisco artist Lynne Rutter was born and raised in California and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from U.C. Berkeley in 1985.

With nearly 20 years of experience as a professional designer and artist, Lynne Rutter is now widely recognized as a fine art muralist and expert decorative painter. In addition to her work on historic restoration projects, she has created original murals for numerous commercial spaces such as the Paris Hotel Casino in Las Vegas, the Westin St. Francis Hotel, and the Cobalt Tavern in San Francisco, as well as scores of distinguished residences throughout the Bay Area and nationally.

Lynne's personal work (as well as her commissioned work) is both figurative and ornamental and is strongly influenced by her travels in Europe, the paintings of Vermeer, Chardin, Fra Angelica, and Max Beckmann, and the patterns and textures of anything beautiful she encounters.

Lynne is currently working on a series of forty larger than life portraits painted in renaissance style for which she is actively seeking both models and patrons. Portraits in this project include likenesses of composer Erling Wold, opera singer John Duykers, director Missy Weaver, composer Thom Blum, artist Marcia Steurmer, and John and Renee Coker.
