Andre de Baubigny

Andre de Baubigny

Often called a Renaissance man, Andre de Baubigny's interests range from Wall Street to politics, from art to antiques, and from fine wine to haute cuisine. Andre expresses these passions in rich, vivid oils on a swath of canvas. A native of the Cote d'Azur, he draws from the French Impressionists for inspiration, whether capturing French scenes or the vineyards of Napa Valley. Layering color abundantly to achieve the luminescence he desires, Andre also fills his canvases with sights from his travels around the world. Gondolas in Venice, the gardens of Europe, rugged coasts and rivers are among the landscapes he depicts.

As an attorney consumer with mergers and acquisitions of major companies, initially painting was a pastime. Now, Andre devotes his time to his art along with his personal investments.

A private man, Andre chooses not to show his works in galleries. Instead, he selectively bestows his friends and family with his creations. In gratitude to the Trauma Center for saving his wife Gretchen's life, he created a full round heart for the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation's 2004 inaugural Hearts in San Francisco event. Andre was selected for the Hearts & Heroes 2008 event and agreed to create a table top heart.
