Michael Azgour

Michael Azgour is a fine artist who specializes in abstract-figurative painting and non-objective collage. He was born and raised in California and currently lives and works in San Francisco. He received his M.F.A. degree in Studio Painting from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Azgour paints prolifically and exhibits his work often, having shown his paintings throughout the United States and abroad.

Michael teaches fine arts classes for several Bay Area institutions. He currently teaches Figurative Drawing and Abstract Painting at Palo Alto Art Center, Expressive Drawing and Mixed Media at Pacific Art League in Palo Alto, and Advanced Abstract Painting at Marin College, Community Education. He is also a review committee member for the graduate school at the Academy of Art University.

Azgour's work has been recognized recently by the Andrews Art Museum, who will exhibit three of his pieces in 2009. He is represented by William Merrill Gallery in Laguna Beach, California.
