Vanessa Marsh

To make my images I create miniature sets and photograph them. The scenes are made from my imagination, reconstructed and skewed versions of places that have been abandoned but where at one time great care was taken to construct utilitarian and superficial monuments.

Through my process I am able to create a space of dreams and imagination that is at once real and surreal. These images are meant to be familiar yet floating and displaced, a location that is an island in both location and time, with no before or after.
