The Trauma Center

SFGH is the only hospital in San Francisco and northern San Mateo counties with Level One Trauma accreditation. To maintain accreditation, the hospital must have specialists in all aspects of trauma medicine on-site, 24 hours a day. Specialized equipment must be maintained and periodically updated to ensure quality care.
